Hidden Truth

Category : Blog, Music

I have been thinking about my music; why I have it, what I would like to do with it, and my real intentions behind promoting it. I wrote a song one time called ”Only God Knows”. One of the lines in the song is ”there’s a place way down in your heart that only God knows”. In Jeremiah 17: 9 the Bible says: ”The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it”?

Where I am going with this is to honesty. Life is a journey. If we haven’t got it all figured out that’s all right! I am sure that is a good thing. As long as we are on this planet there will be things to learn about our hearts, and minds. God is searching our hearts and testing our minds to see if we will respond to truth.

God says ”Delight yourselves in the Lord; and he will give you the desires of your heart”.

I had a ”desire of my heart” to go to Nashville to record my music. God granted that desire, and I recorded my album Broad Road. Thank You Lord!

Back to the matter of ”the heart”. You can’t fool God. It’s good to force yourself to think truthfully about your real intentions and examine ”self”.

I set out to find good promotion companies so that I could send a couple of songs to radio, to make my music known, my name known, so that {God} would be glorified through the songs he gave me. Sound good!!?? That is Not True. Looking back, I see now that it was ME that I wanted to put on a pedestal; not Jesus. That I believe is Truth, and God is interested in us all coming to an understanding of the real Me.

It’s just life. God is not mad at me. He knows me well and the dumb things I do don’t surprise him. But, I know he is interested in Truth, and I know that he takes delight when his children embrace truth. I am hoping one day to be able to say ”Not I, but Christ living in me.”
Thank you Lord for opening my eyes.
